“Empathy Land” is a board game developed by a group of volunteer psychologists and intercultural communication specialists under the patronage of the non-profit foundation Connect2Us according to the European Commission Sustainability Development Goals for 2030 (SDG’s) for Citizenship Education. “Empathy Land” aims at fostering intercultural communication among pupils at school by inviting its players to communicate and exchange information about their uses, habits and values in their home environments. “Empathy Land” was developed as a tool for interactive learning aiming at stimulating pupils to want to win the game and in the meantime making them acknowledge cultural differences between themselves and their classmates, inviting them to reason outside their own ethnocentric framework. As a consequence, the idea is to reduce prejudices and discrimination, developing mental tools to educate children against racism.
